What NOT to Cut from Your Wedding Budget

As costs start adding up for your big day, it's easy to think about cutting out seemingly unimportant expenses left and right. And while your wedding budget may not accommodate every aspect of the dream day you envisioned, there are a few things that we know for certain are definitely worth spending a little extra on.

1. Food

When budgets start getting tight, one of the first places people look to cut back on is their food. It is one of your biggest wedding expenses, after all. Our words to the wise? Don't cut back on the quality or quantity of your wedding food. Make sure you have not only enough food to feed all your guests but also that your food tastes pretty good. It doesn't have to be the best meal your guests ever ate, but you also don't want it to be the worst. This is especially important if you're going to have an open bar. You don't want your guests drinking away during cocktail hour on empty stomachs!

2. Photographer

You only have one chance to capture your wedding day, so don't sacrifice when it comes to your photographer! An experienced photographer will be able to capture and preserve the wedding memories you'll cherish for years to come. Trust us, you don't want to be a couple who looks back and hates their wedding photos!

3. Decor

We're not saying you have to go all out with your decor but if you're considering swapping out a major portion of your wedding day decorations for DIY projects, we'd encourage you to think long and hard about it. DIY wedding decor can take a lot of time and, often times, it doesn't end up saving you as much money as you'd think. So before you go to town with printing all your stationery at home or ordering flowers in bulk instead of from a florist, think about whether it's really worth the extra time, energy and potential stress.

4. Parking and Valet

This last one may come as a surprise but we always encourage brides and grooms to foot their guests' parking bills. You don't want your guests' last memory of your special day to be pulling out their wallets to pay for parking!
